Surakshya Nikaya Tayari App: Free MCQ Preparation for Nepal Army, Police, APF and Loksewa
Surakshya Nikaya Tayari App: Free MCQ Preparation for Nepal Army, Police, APF and Loksewa
Preparing for a competitive exam is not always about reading more books. Sometimes, the bigger challenge is finding a simple way to practice what you have already studied.
For students preparing for the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, APF, or Loksewa, MCQ practice is an important part of preparation. But many students still have to move between videos, websites, books and different sources to practice.
That is the main reason behind Surakshya Nikaya Tayari, a free Android app created for students who want to prepare through MCQ practice, challenges, model exams and interactive learning.
The idea behind the app is simple: make exam preparation easier, more practical and a little more enjoyable.
What is Surakshya Nikaya Tayari?
Surakshya Nikaya Tayari is an Android-based MCQ preparation app mainly designed for students preparing for the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and APF.
It also includes useful preparation content for Loksewa students, particularly in areas such as General Knowledge, history, geography, science, technology, law and IQ.
The app is completely free to use for its main preparation features.
Instead of only watching a video or reading notes, students can actually answer questions, take tests, check their results, find their mistakes and practice those questions again.
That is the basic idea behind the app.
Why Was This App Created?
The idea did not start simply because there were no preparation apps available.
There are already different apps and online resources for exam preparation. But from my experience of working with students, I felt that students often had to use different places for different things.
One place for videos.
Another place for questions.
Another website for information.
And sometimes, students had to pay for preparation materials.
For students who could afford paid classes, this might not be a major problem. But I also came across students who wanted to prepare seriously but could not afford expensive online classes or paid materials.
At the same time, I had already been creating Nepal Army and Nepal Police preparation content on YouTube, Facebook and TikTok for around two to three years.
During that time, I noticed something else.
Watching a long video can be useful, but students do not always want to spend their entire preparation time watching videos. Sometimes they simply want to test themselves.
They want to know:
How much do I actually remember?
That made me think about creating something more interactive.
Instead of only watching someone explain a question, why not let students answer the question themselves?
Why not add a timer?
Why not show the result immediately?
Why not let students challenge their friends?
And if a student gets a question wrong, why not give them another chance to practice that same question?
That thinking eventually became Surakshya Nikaya Tayari.
Learning Through Practice Instead of Only Watching
The main idea behind the app is to make preparation feel less like a burden.
Students can practice MCQs, take challenges, compete with friends, check their scores and repeat questions they got wrong.
For example, if a student answers 20 questions and gets several of them wrong, those incorrect questions can be practiced again.
This gives students a simple way to identify where they need more practice.
The goal is not to replace books, classes or other study materials.
It is to give students another practical way to prepare.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police, APF and Loksewa in One App
One of the main ideas behind Surakshya Nikaya Tayari is bringing different preparation categories into one place.
On the home screen, students can find four main categories:
Nepal Army
Nepal Police
APF
Loksewa
For Nepal Army preparation, students can practice different subjects according to the relevant written-exam syllabus, including areas such as General Knowledge, English, Nepali and Mathematics.
Nepal Police preparation includes relevant categories such as IQ and Nepal's history, along with other syllabus-related practice.
The Loksewa section includes categories covering areas such as Nepal's history, Nepal's geography, world history, world geography, law, IQ, science and technology.
The content can be updated when the relevant syllabus changes.
How the MCQ Practice Works
The MCQ system is designed to give students a more exam-like experience.
A question appears with four answer options.
Students have 25 seconds to answer.
If they do not answer within the time limit, the system automatically moves forward.
When a student selects an answer, the system shows whether the answer is correct or incorrect. Correct answers are highlighted, while incorrect answers receive a different visual warning.
After answering, students can also see an explanation of the question.
There is also an automatic transition system, so students do not always have to manually move to the next question.
This makes the practice session faster and keeps the student focused on the questions.
Negative Marking for a More Realistic Practice Experience
Another feature of the app is negative marking.
The system can calculate the effect of incorrect answers instead of simply showing the number of correct answers.
For example, if a test has negative marking, a student can see how incorrect answers affected the final score.
This is useful because students can understand that getting a question wrong is not always the same as simply getting zero for that question.
It gives them a better idea of how an actual competitive examination can feel.
GK Challenge: Make Preparation More Interactive
The GK Challenge is another part of the app designed to make learning more interactive.
Students can challenge friends and compete with each other.
They can also play against a bot when they do not have another person available to play with.
For students who enjoy competition, this can make General Knowledge practice more interesting.
Instead of simply reading a GK question and moving on, students can turn it into a small challenge.
Sometimes a little competition can make people want to practice one more round.
Live Tests and Model Exams
The app also includes live tests and model examination-style practice.
The tests can contain a large set of questions based on the selected preparation category and its syllabus.
The purpose is to give students an opportunity to sit for a longer practice session rather than solving only a few questions at a time.
The idea is to make students more comfortable with answering many questions continuously under time pressure.
AI Guru Inside the App
One feature I particularly wanted to include is AI Guru.
Students sometimes get confused about a question or a particular topic while studying.
Normally, they might have to leave the preparation app, open another application and search for an explanation.
With AI Guru, students can ask their questions inside the app.
Depending on the available interaction, they can use text, images, PDF files or voice to ask for help.
The idea is simple: if a student is already studying inside the app and gets confused, they should have a way to seek help without completely leaving their study environment.
AI Guru is also something I plan to continue improving as the app develops.
Practice the Questions You Got Wrong
This is one of the features I consider especially useful.
Students do not always need to repeat every question they have already mastered.
If they make mistakes, the app can help them focus again on those questions.
So instead of starting from the beginning every time, students can return to the questions they got wrong and practice them again.
This can make revision more focused.
It also helps students notice which subjects or topics are causing them the most trouble.
Results and Performance
After completing a question set, students can see their result.
The result can show information such as:
Correct answers
Incorrect answers
Questions not answered
Negative marks
Final score
Students do not have to manually calculate everything themselves.
They can simply complete the test and check the result afterward.
Leaderboard and Competition
The app also includes a leaderboard system.
Students can see rankings based on their performance over different periods, such as daily, weekly and monthly.
For some students, seeing their position can become an additional motivation.
A student might think:
“I was first today. Can I do better tomorrow?”
Or:
“My friend scored more than me this time. I should practice again.”
The purpose is not simply to create competition, but to make regular practice more engaging.
Profile and Personal Progress
Students can also create and manage their own profile.
They can add or edit information such as their name and profile picture.
This makes the app feel more personal instead of simply being a collection of questions.
PDF and Video Resources
The app also has sections for PDF and video resources.
Students who need additional study materials can access available PDF resources.
Some PDF materials may be available through a separate paid arrangement, with payment and delivery handled through the available contact methods.
The video section also connects students with preparation videos on YouTube.
This means students can use the app for MCQ practice while also accessing video-based learning resources when they need a more detailed explanation.
How the Questions Are Prepared
The questions inside the app are prepared according to the relevant syllabus and study requirements.
I prepare questions with the help of books, reference materials, articles and AI-assisted research.
Previous examination questions can also be useful references, especially for understanding the type and scope of questions students may encounter.
However, not every question is simply copied word for word from an old examination.
For subjects such as English, Nepali and Mathematics, practice questions can be created and modified according to the syllabus.
Some factual GK areas naturally have limited information, so similar questions may sometimes appear.
The content is also not meant to remain unchanged forever.
If a syllabus changes, the related content can be updated.
And if a student finds a question that appears to be incorrect, there is a Report option available for questions. Reported questions can then be checked and corrected when necessary.
Who Is This App For?
Surakshya Nikaya Tayari is mainly intended for students preparing for:
Nepal Army
Nepal Police
APF
Loksewa
It can be useful for students who want to practice MCQs regularly rather than relying only on passive study.
The app is particularly focused on students who want a free and convenient way to practice from their phone.
The App Is Free
One of the main goals behind the project is accessibility.
The core app is designed to be free, so students do not need to pay simply to start practicing MCQs.
This is important to me because not every student has the same financial situation.
Some students can afford paid classes and expensive preparation materials.
Others cannot.
If a free app can help even a small number of students prepare better, then I believe it has a purpose.
Who Is Behind Surakshya Nikaya Tayari?
My name is Badri Karki, and Karki Ranjit is the brand name I use for my online content.
For around two to three years, I have been creating preparation-related content for Nepal Army, Nepal Police and APF students through platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and TikTok.
The idea for this app came from that experience.
I am not a professional coding expert.
But after seeing students respond to and use the preparation content I was already creating, I became more confident that the same educational idea could be developed into an app.
I had also wanted to build an app for a long time.
I wanted students to have something they could use not only to watch a video, but to actually practice, compete, make mistakes, learn from those mistakes and try again.
My Main Purpose
There is no complicated personal goal behind this project.
I simply want to contribute something useful to students who are preparing for Nepal Army, Nepal Police and APF because they want to serve the country.
Some of those students may have limited financial resources.
If this app can help even a few students improve their preparation, understand a difficult topic, practice more questions or become more confident before an examination, I will feel that the effort was worthwhile.
For me, that is a meaningful contribution.
What Is Next for the App?
The app is still developing.
More MCQs and new question sets can be added over time.
AI Guru can also be improved as students use it and new requirements become clear.
If the syllabus of Nepal Army, Nepal Police or APF changes, the relevant preparation content can be updated as well.
In the future, the app may also expand into different preparation levels and categories, such as Officer, Cadet, ASI and Inspector preparation.
An iOS version is also something I am considering for the future.
For now, the main focus is to make the Android version useful and continue improving the content and preparation experience.
Android Availability
Surakshya Nikaya Tayari is currently being prepared for Android users.
The app is designed to work on Android 7 and above.
It is currently not publicly available on Google Play Store yet. The Play Store release is being prepared and testing will take place before the public launch.
Once the app becomes publicly available, the official Google Play Store download link will be added here.
[DOWNLOAD FROM GOOGLE PLAY — LINK WILL BE ADDED AFTER PUBLIC RELEASE]
Final Thoughts
Exam preparation does not have to happen in only one way.
Some students prefer books.
Some prefer videos.
Some learn better by solving questions again and again.
And some enjoy learning when there is a little competition involved.
Surakshya Nikaya Tayari was created with those students in mind.
The goal is not to say that one app can replace every book, teacher or preparation resource.
The goal is much simpler:
Give students another practical, free and interactive way to prepare.
If you are preparing for the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, APF or Loksewa and you are looking for a way to practice MCQs, challenge yourself and understand your mistakes, you can try Surakshya Nikaya Tayari when it becomes available on Google Play.
Maybe after reading this, you will simply think:
“This app might actually be useful for my preparation. I’ll give it a try when it comes to the Play Store.”
And honestly, that is exactly the kind of response I hope this project earns.
